Generally I shy away from skirts like this (uber-fitted), but I decided to take a step outside of my comfort zone and take a chance on it. Aside from it majorly shortening my stride, it is actually quite comfortable. I ended up wearing it with my gold sequin tee (seen here) for New Year's Eve.
Framing the colorful skirt and shirt with grey helped pull the whole look together. I kept accessories to a minimum - aside from the broach.Let's face it, the stars of the show (aside from the skirt) were the shoes. Who doesn't love a bit of sparkle in the afternoon.
I ended up cutting off the second strap of these shoes - it fell right where my ankle bends and made them uncomfortable.
Sniping off the strap made them a bit more wearable. And with there being two straps, I had no trouble keeping them on my feet. I've been eyeing them for ages and finally purchased them on sale, I'm happy I could make them work.
The vintage sunglasses are hand-me-downs from my dad. And the top provides a nice bright pop.
