Seaside

Earlier this month we headed out to the west coast for a friends wedding and to visit family.  After the brutal winter, it was sort of game changing to wear shorts and actually feel warm.  I wasn't sure I was ever going to do either of those things again.  We took a day trip up the Pacific Coast Highway and stopped off to stick our toes in the surf.  Not exactly swimming weather but beautiful nonetheless. Looking forward to getting back out there soon!

Windy

I thought I was being so smart wearing a hat in Miami to protect my face from the sun...but then it turned out not to be very sunny...and very windy.  Oh well, I figure if I brought it all the way down here I might as well wear it!  Perfect for a casual outfit for an afternoon of walking around South Beach.

Greener Pastures

I could get used to the weather in Northern California.  Cool with a warm breeze without an ounce of humidity.
Perfect layering weather.
My favorite detail on this sweater is that the reverse side is a reverse of the pattern on the outside.
Gives my rolled up sleeves a bit of pizzazz!
This belt has been in heavy rotation lately.  It's a nice change from the skinnier belts I'd been wearing.

It was so cool watching the sun chase the fog over the mountains.  I was glad for the layers as the fog burned off and temperatures warmed up.

Candy Color

After a great weekend visiting a friend in North Carolina, I was happy to spend Sunday afternoon enjoying the Brooklyn waterfront.
I found this necklace while in NC.  I love how the chains are all different colors.  I thought it worked nicely with my polka dot shirt.
I love these untraditional, candy colored polka dots.
Boots are my go to for cooler weather months.  These shoes are great because they have the feel of booties, but the cut outs make them much more manageable for hotter months.
It was great to be back in Brooklyn!

Denim on Denim

I'm a big fan of denim on denim.  Though a denim shirt and boyfriend jeans are pretty safe bets on their own, combining them takes everything up a notch.
I stole another pair of my husband's old jeans.  I trimmed the length so you can see just a hint ankle at the bottom.
My neon belt adds a great pop of bright color to break up the blues.
It's finally open-toe-sans-socks-weather and I'm happy to be taking advantage of it!
I chose a tailored blazer to off-set the roomy shirt and jeans.
I am pretty sure Sponge Bob approved.
