Take me home.

Below: I'm feeling the idea of simple camp or farmhouse-esqe bedrooms with fun details and uses of nooks and crannies.

Below: my ideal use for our new spare room...guest room slash room for shoes.

Now we just need a closing date so I can really start planning (and packing).  For real.

This picture was taken this past summer when my brand new husband and I were on our honeymoon in Portugal (highly recommended!!).  We spent the first week traveling around the south-western coast - our home base was Lagos - and this particular evening we went to dinner in the little town of Salema.  Hands down best meal of the trip at Restaurante Mira Mar, the pasta with fresh clams was perfect.

I wore a similar version of this look recently.  I love dressing up my favorite sweatshirt with a silk kimono style jacket to make it at least semi-appropriate for wearing outside the house.

Best lipstick color.  Ever!

As you may be able to tell from here I've been on a lipstick-kick of late.  Put a color like this on and you're bound to feel at least a little better.

Pink Lady

This weekend ended up being the most beautiful weekends of the summer...even if it was October.

I finally broke out my leather jacket, and then realized it was going to be about 85 degrees (and sunny!!) and it might have been a bit premature.  None the less, beautiful weather on a Saturday is OK in my book.  Throwing on a pair of opaque tights will extend the life of your favorite summery dresses - at least for a couple weeks.  Add a pair of boots and you're ready for Fall.  Or Summer in the case of this weekend.

Welcome to Brooklyn

Wandering around Red Hook last weekend, it was finally cool enough to wear my giant fisherman's sweater I got at the end of winter last year.

She was an American girl.

I didn't even know our floor had roof access until the other day!  Feeling rather patriotic in my red, white and blue.
