Amber Waves

I spent a fantastic weekend up in the Adirondacks - catching up with family and cooling off from NYC's brutal summer.  Wearing long sleeves (let alone a sweater!) felt novel.
The sunshine felt so nice, warm but not too hot.
I packed mostly just my favorite pieces and mixed and matched.

Down by the River

At the end of our Catskills weekend, before we got back on the road towards Brooklyn, we stopped to fuel up on caffeine.  As we headed back to the car we discovered a great little park and we took a few moments to enjoy nature before heading back to the big city.
It was super hot when we got into the city, so I was happy to have worn a cool dress.  I love that the hemline is longer in the back.
I've worn these sandals pretty much every chance I've had since I got them a couple weeks back.  The bright neon pink adds a the perfect pop to whatever I'm wearing.
I had my trusty chambray shirt on hand for the cold AC in the car.  The tire swing looked really inviting.  I was definitely wishing that my bathing suit wasn't buried in the car.

Not So Basic Blue

Not far from our apartment, there is an area full of giant old warehouses.  The crumbling brick facades make for a pretty cool background.
I'm a huge fan of comfy knit sweaters, even more-so when they have cool and interesting details like the asymmetrical hem and metallic coating on this one.
The bright sunny morning really brought out all the colors, the blues were brighter and the metallics and glitter details really popped.
I had to take advantage of the warm sun to put aside my warm winter jackets and wear one of my favorite leather jackets.
I can't resist this pink lipstick, it's the perfect super saturated hot pink.  A simple necklace of layered chains and the glitter shoes picked up the silver in the sweater and the gold in the jacket and necklace.
Who said a sweater and jeans has to be boring?
