Neon Daydream

On a recent sunny afternoon I decided to switch up my usual skinny jeans for a pair of '70s inspired bell bottoms and topped it off with a bright hat.  It was a welcome change -- and matched the graffiti wall nicely quite by chance.
Aviators added to the overall '70s feel.

My favorite detail on this tote is the bright red and green on the straps.

Looking forward to more sunny days, fingers crossed for the weekend!

Construction Zone

You can't go wrong with simple layers.  It ended up being significantly warmer than I had anticipated so I had to ditch my rain jacket.  Luckily by the end of the day the rain had stopped.
My sweater worked to brighten up the dark jeans and button down.
I love how the bright coral color works against the taupe in the sweater.  Such a fun combination.
The long button down shirt offers a bit of coverage but the sheerness keeps it from feeling overwhelming.
Red, patent wedges?  Don't mind if I do.
A simple outfit kept interesting with a few pops of fun color.

No Slouch

I got this skirt to wear for a special occasion (New Years Eve).  Since then, I've had to be a little creative with figuring out ways to wear it in my everyday life - it's not exactly my usual style!
I opted for a longer sweater - both for warmth and to offer a bit of extra coverage.
I kept things more on the casual side with a slouchy grey tee.
I loved how the grey and gold looked next to each other.
I also made sure the tee was long enough to offer a bit more coverage as well incase I had to ditch the sweater.
I'm looking forward to wearing these sandals throughout the summer.  The navy color is a bit unexpected - I haven't come across many navy shoes - and I love it!
Now, if only the sun would come out and warm things back up!

Not So Basic Blue

Not far from our apartment, there is an area full of giant old warehouses.  The crumbling brick facades make for a pretty cool background.
I'm a huge fan of comfy knit sweaters, even more-so when they have cool and interesting details like the asymmetrical hem and metallic coating on this one.
The bright sunny morning really brought out all the colors, the blues were brighter and the metallics and glitter details really popped.
I had to take advantage of the warm sun to put aside my warm winter jackets and wear one of my favorite leather jackets.
I can't resist this pink lipstick, it's the perfect super saturated hot pink.  A simple necklace of layered chains and the glitter shoes picked up the silver in the sweater and the gold in the jacket and necklace.
Who said a sweater and jeans has to be boring?

[Charles] Water Under the Bridge

The Charles that I knew in college was always a source of calm alongside the busy streets that wind their way through Boston. A half-hour into the suburbs, where my husband grew up, its otherwise peaceful current tumbles over a dam and throws off a shower of golden-green sparks.

The light was perfect to show off my own sparks.

In green, gold, and gray, I might have blended into my surroundings if not for these pieces' unique lines and textures (plus some orangy-red lipstick - Nars Heat Wave to be exact).

Feeling zen with my watery counterpart.
These boots work with almost everything, even stone walls by the riverside.
I loved visiting the Charles' combination of color, calm, and a bit of glimmer–just like I remembered.
