Orange Haze

While I don't love the cold, I do love a good winter jacket.  I'd had my eye on this updated peacoat for quite some time.  Pairing it with fire-engine red jeans helps to ward off the mid winter doldrums.
Bright lipstick tends to help me with that as well!
My favorite part of the jacket is the exaggerated collar - it reminds me of something Ali McGraw might have worn in "Love Story."
I kept my sweater/shirt combination muted since my jeans were pretty loud.
These boots are the other item that's been on serious repeat lately...they're pretty perfect with pretty much everything.
We've been playing around with our new camera lens - I love how it picked up the gorgeous orangey late afternoon sunlight.

Casual Details

I tend to keep it pretty casual on the weekends - especially if I am spending the weekend outside of the city.  That doesn't stop me from mixing in some fun details to keep an otherwise simple outfit interesting.
It was pretty chilly all weekend so I kept my vintage army jacket on hand whenever I was outside.
I dressed up my striped thermal and cashmere sweater with a fabric flower pin.  Super simple and pretty.
I have been wearing these jeans a lot lately.  I love the zipper and moto-style details.
This polka dot hat has become a favorite.  I love how adds a bit of whimsey to any outfit.

Tasseled loafers in a fun forest green color rounded out the look.  And they matched my surroundings quite nicely!

Fade to Grey

With the days getting shorter, colder and in general grey-er, I took advantage of a beautiful late afternoon patch of sunshine in Redhook.
I layered a cozy sweater and blazer over a party dress to make it a bit more afternoon appropriate.
The industrial factory building provided a perfect contrasting backdrop for a rather lady-like look.
I added a bright necklace for some color and a hand-knit hat for warmth - don't let the light fool you, it was pretty but freezing!
Sticking with the theme, I carried black and grey right through to my shoes - and the garage door and gate!
The skirt caught the light perfectly and really brought out the pattern.
