Autumn

It was totally by accident that my outfit ended up perfectly matching my background!  The foliage in upstate New York was absolutely beautiful the last time I was up there.   Can't beat these views!

Casual Details

I tend to keep it pretty casual on the weekends - especially if I am spending the weekend outside of the city.  That doesn't stop me from mixing in some fun details to keep an otherwise simple outfit interesting.
It was pretty chilly all weekend so I kept my vintage army jacket on hand whenever I was outside.
I dressed up my striped thermal and cashmere sweater with a fabric flower pin.  Super simple and pretty.
I have been wearing these jeans a lot lately.  I love the zipper and moto-style details.
This polka dot hat has become a favorite.  I love how adds a bit of whimsey to any outfit.

Tasseled loafers in a fun forest green color rounded out the look.  And they matched my surroundings quite nicely!

Cozy

I've been waiting for crisp autumn temperatures to break out my favorite cozy sweater and boot combination.  I know a couple months from now I'll be wishfully hoping for summer weather again, but for now I'm enjoying the change.

I've been partaking in the wine/burgundy lipstick trend lately.  It's a fun change.  In some ways it's little more intense than red, but it's not quite as bright.

I've always liked the cut of these boots.  The wide opening is unexpected and hits at the ankle in a nice and flattering way.
I love an easy outfit for a low-key afternoon hanging out in Brooklyn.

Plaid

I've slowly been reintroducing some of my Fall favorites back into rotation.  I've been looking forward to breaking these jeans out again for quite some time.  Cropped, high-waisted, and plaid - quite a combination and it just works.  Paired them with a simple tee and a few fun accessories and I am ready to go.

Camo

I'm a big fan of hats in general and this one is right on trend this season - baseball style and camo printed.  The hat works easily paired with a simple sheer blouse and grey jeans.

Greener Pastures

I could get used to the weather in Northern California.  Cool with a warm breeze without an ounce of humidity.
Perfect layering weather.
My favorite detail on this sweater is that the reverse side is a reverse of the pattern on the outside.
Gives my rolled up sleeves a bit of pizzazz!
This belt has been in heavy rotation lately.  It's a nice change from the skinnier belts I'd been wearing.

It was so cool watching the sun chase the fog over the mountains.  I was glad for the layers as the fog burned off and temperatures warmed up.

Falling Forward

San Francisco's cool temperatures were certainly a departure from NYC's hot and steamy weather.  I actually had to add a layer and change from sandals to boots!  It was a nice reminder that Fall isn't too far off.

Taking full advantage of a short trip I went straight from the plane to sight-seeing.  This meant comfortable layers.
I look forward to pairing this blazer with pretty much everything.  I love how the different colors work through the geometric pattern.
It's colorful, but not too loud.
I kept everything else pretty simple to highlight the jacket.
I'm looking forward to stocking up on more basics - like this blazer - in unexpected colors and patterns for Fall.
